Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been blessed with a baby girl today at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. The proud father announced the birth of their first child via his various social media handles.
The 32-year-old new father posted an official statement informing that both the mother and child are healthy. Furthermore, he thanked all their fans and well-wishers for their love and prayers and are expecting that their privacy would be respected.
In August 2020, they announced that they are soon to be blessed with another addition in their family. Posting a picture of them together on their respective Instagram handles, they captioned, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021 ❤️.”
Congratulations pour in for the new parents
After Virat publicly announced the happy news, wishes poured in for the blessed couple. Thousands of fans, the sports fraternity, entertainment industry and other influential personalities congratulated the couple on the occasion of the birth of their first child.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar tweeted his wishes and love for Virushka and the baby.
Renowned Indian spin bowler Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to send his wishes, and wrote,
Ace badminton player Saina Nehwal replied to Virat's statement, 'Congratulations, both of you!"
Cricketer Irfan Pathan tweeted the same to Virat's tweet.
BCCI, the governing body of Indian cricket posted their congratulations on Twitter.
Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan also conveyed his wishes to the couple.
The official handle of IPL team Rajasthan Royals captioned in a tweet, "Saving her birthdate on #TheWall." This pointed out that their daughter shared her birthdate with the former Indian cricket team captain Rahul Dravid.
Sports journalist Vimal Kumar congratulated and wrote that she could be named 'Sydney' as she was born on the day the Indian cricket team played incredibly well in the third test match against Australia today.
