para teacher rapes class v girl: A 50-year-old para teacher in Sikar area of Rajasthan allegedly raped a student studying in class V of a government school. The incident came in light on 16 October when the survivor was reluctant to go to school after a three-day leave and also informed her parents about the same. On Sunday, the survivor's father lodged a complaint against the teacher at Sadar Police Station.

The police said that the mother was getting her ready for school but she was constantly showing her unwillingness to go. The family asked her about the reason and she informed them that the accused identified as Shankar Lal Sharma touched her private parts and also had been touching her inappropriately for a long time. On hearing this, the family reached school but the teacher was absent. The father then lodged a complaint in the police station, as per a report.
According to the police, even if a minor girl is touched inappropriately, it is considered to be a rape.
The SHO of the police station said that the accused has been detained and will be arrested soon. A case under appropriate sections of the POCSO act has been filed.
This is not the first time when a school girl has been raped by a staff member in Rajasthan. Last week, Police arrested a government school principal for the alleged rape of a girl student studying in seventh grade. The girl alleged the 31-year-old man also harassed her and sent her obscene texts. In fact, certain authorities in school were asked not to report it.
The rape occurred in Jhunjhunu district on October 5. The accused, Kesha Yadav, called the survivor to school early morning on the pretext of studies and proceeded to rape her inside the government school premises. Read more about the case here.
