Rajasthan Man Rapes Tribal Woman For Over A Year, Makes Her Take Abortion Pills

The survivor who belongs to the Bhil community, is recovering in a hospital and her condition is reported to be out of danger, a police official stated.

Rajasthan Rape Case: A man in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan allegedly raped a girl from a tribal community for over a year and gave her abortion pills to terminate her pregnancy, as per the police.

As per reports, the survivor lived near the accused person's house. According to the survivor's family, she is above 18-years of age. The police are currently trying to determine her exact age. If she is found younger than 18 years, a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act will be incorporated in the case, as per the official. The incident was reported at Mandawar Police Station in the Jhalawar district. The survivor reportedly complained of stomach ache and was later taken to a hospital nearby where doctors found out that she was six months pregnant.

As the survivor had taken abortion pills, the foetus was dead. The Deputy Superintendent of Police and Circle Officer Rajiv Parihar said that the accused man was giving the girl abortion pills. The accused man named Dawood has been charged under section 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent), section 376 (rape) and 315 (an act done with intent to prevent child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth) of the Indian Penal Code. In addition to that, the accused man has also been booked under Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe Act. As per the officials, the accused man is still at large.

The survivor in her complaint alleged that the accused man was raping her on the pretext of marriage. She also alleged the madrasa teacher of forcing her to get an abortion, as per reports.
