12 year old rapes minor girl: A 12-year-old has been detained for raping a five-year-old neighbour in Palghar in Maharashtra. As per an official, a case has been registered against the 12-year-old accused under relevant provisions of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences POCSO Act. According to the police, the boy allegedly took the girl to the terrace of the residential building where they used to live. He raped her there.
The girl complained of stomach ache to her parents after the assault. The family took the girl to a hospital where the doctors confirmed sexual assault. The girl gave details about the incident to her parents after they insisted. A police complaint was lodged in Boisar police station against the 12-year-old minor with the police. The survivor was hospitalised where she is undergoing treatment. She has sustained injuries in her private parts. The accused minor has been detained and sent to a juvenile remand home, as per
reports.
A similar incident had taken place in March this year. A fourteen-year-old boy had allegedly raped a five-year-old girl when she visited his house to watch television. According to the investigation officer, both her parents were not at home when she went to the accused's house. The teenager was produced before a Juvenile Justice Board. In yet another case of harrowing sexual crimes against children, a minor girl died by suicide in Daryapur area of Amravati district in Maharashtra.
