Rajasthan Woman In A Critical Condition After Youth Attacks Her With A Machete

The woman is under treatment in Jaipur now, but her condition remains critical.

A 23-year old woman was reportedly attacked with a machete by a youth in Dausa district of Rajasthan, leaving her critically injured. The accused, who is also her neighbour, reportedly barged into the woman's house and hacked her with a machete.

The woman's grandmother witnessed to the violence as she was sitting beside her when the incident occurred. The injured woman was rushed to SMS hospital in Jaipur for treatment, however, she is in a critical condition, according to a report by Times Now.

While the police were alerted about the incident, the accused Ravi Meena hasn't been nabbed, yet. The police are yet to find out and confirm the reason behind Meena's attack.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Dausa district said that special teams have been commissioned to arrest the accused. He added that they will record the statement of the woman after her condition improves.

Similar incident in Hubbali, Karnataka

A man, reportedly named Ismail, reportedly attacked a woman with a machete in the middle of a road, in broad daylight. The 23-year old accused was reportedly the woman's lover.

One of the bystanders captured the incident on camera and the video went viral after finding its way to social media. The attacker is under arrest now. Meanwhile, the injured woman was rushed to the hospital. She reportedly suffered serious injuries on her head and neck.

"The woman is recovering from the injuries and the man was arrested immediately after. We were told that the two people used to be together, but after the woman left Ismail, he decided to attack her. For now, we have registered a case against him for the assault," said Hubballi Suburban police station inspector SK Holeyannavar. Read more about it here.
