A woman was reportedly hacked with a machete by a man, believed to be her lover, in broad daylight in Hubbali, Karnataka. This shocking incident was captured by someone and the video has gone viral on social media.

The man, reportedly named Ismail, brutally attacked the woman with a machete in the middle of a road in the locality of Deshpande Nagar, Hubbali, according to the reports. One of the bystanders managed to catch the incident on camera. The police already arrested the attacker. Meanwhile, the woman was rushed to the hospital where she is recovering now. She has reportedly suffered serious injuries on her head and neck.

SK Holeyannavar, Hubbali Suburban police station inspector told The News Minute, "The woman is recovering from the injuries and the man was arrested immediately after. We were told that the two people used to be together, but after the woman left Ismail, he decided to attack her. For now, we have registered a case against him for the assault."

A video captured by a bystander was widely shared online after the incident hit the news. In that video, the woman was lying in the middle of the road, and the man was repeatedly hitting her with a machete on her back, head and neck.

This is not the first time a horrific incident of this magnitude was caught on camera this year.

In October, Nikita Tomar was shot dead amidst people in Ballabgarh, Faridabad. While coming out of college, two men tried to first drag her into their vehicle at gunpoint. Then one of them shot her when she resisted. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment the same day.
