The season one which had 14-episodes told the story of woman named Ashraf Bhatkar aka Sapna played by Anuja Sathe. Ashraf was known for her beauty and born to a poor family in Aurangabad and subsequently grew up in Bombay. She was married to Zaheer once a confidante of underworld don Maqsood but later they turned arch-rival. This is a story set in 1980s Mumbai and created, written and directed by Sachin Darekar. It is a show where women take centre stage and not included to increase the glamour quotient.
Maqsood operated his drug empire in the country from Dubai. As the rivalry heats up Zaheer is eliminated in a fake encounter by the cops. He is taken away to a secluded location and killed. Ashraf fights hard to secure justice but fails against the mafia and political bigwigs. She vows to overturn and destroy Masood’s illegal empire. Using her beauty and intelligence, she plans and executes strategies undertaking the role of a police informer. She gets closer to Maqsood to bring him down. Ankit Mohan, Chinmay Mandlekar, Rajendra Shisatkar, Resham, and Abhijeet Chavan are the other actors in the show.
The season 1 ends at a point were protagonist Ashraf Bhatkar is brutally attacked. The show is based on real life events. Sathe Anuja began her career as a theatre artist. She has worked in numerous Marathi plays such as Shobha Yatra and Uttar Ratra. She has also been part of various TV shows.
