'Gauri Aagyi', Sushmita Sen Shines Bright In Taali Trailer

The trailer of Taali featuring Sushmita Sen in the lead role as Shreegauri Sawant was released today. The series will depict the inspiring story of Shreegauri Sawant's fight for the rights of transgender.

On Monday, Sushmita Sen and the creators unveiled the trailer for Taali. The upcoming web series highlights the remarkable evolution of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant, her path to motherhood, and the struggle that played a pivotal role in recognising the third gender across official documents in India.

Right from her initial appearance, the actor captivates the audience with her strong on-screen presence, urging them to witness challenging scenarios from a compassionate perspective. Sen portrays the determined Shreegauri Sawant with intensity, fearlessly confronting all obstacles. Her journey encompasses a lifelong desire for motherhood, a profound physical transformation, and eventual acceptance within the transgender community. She fearlessly champions their cause, culminating in a legal battle that reaches the Supreme Court.

Sharing the trailer, Sen wrote, "Gauri aa gayi hai. Apne swabhimaan, sammaan aur swatantrata ki kahaani lekar. #Taali - Bajayenge nahi, bajwayenge!" The trailer suggests that the series is slated to release on 15 August.

Taali, a series created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar, is directed by the National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav and written by Kshitij Patwardhan. Produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar (GSEAMS Production), and Afeefa Nadiadwala, the show aims to bring attention to the unwavering efforts of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in advocating for the recognition of India's third gender. Audiences can look forward to streaming the series on JioCinema starting in August.

Sushmita Sen made her digital debut with Ram Madhvani's Aarya, which received immense acclaim, even earning a nomination at the International Emmy Awards for its first season. With numerous projects lined up, Sen will delight audiences with her versatile roles across various platforms in the near future. Alongside the highly anticipated Aarya's season 3, she is set to star in another biopic for the big screen, produced by Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and Soham Rockstar Entertainment.
