Six Must-Know Telugu Actors Taking Tollywood to the World & Widening Audiences

Tollywood is one of the most exciting film spaces in the world today and with OTT and other film and series platforms, there is growing interest in films from different language industries. Films with music, entertainment and action such as Bahubaali, Sahoo and recent blockbuster movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Rising stars on the Telugu acting scene have a lot to do with increasing popularity of cinema from the region.

Here's a look at some of the most searched Telugu female actors:

1. Rashmika Mandanna - She is of the most influential actors on social media ahead and has a few awards for acting to her credit including the Filmfare South. She is the lead in the action thriller film Pushpa.

Other than Kannada films Mandanna is known for her Telugu films. She had her debut in 2018 with Chalo.  In the same year, she starred in the romcom film Geetha Govindam, which was a successful hit and got Mandanna wide audiences and recognition. Her third Telugu blockbuster was the big budget film Devadas, with which Mandanna's career was cemented in the industry there.

Among her other roles to watch out for, Mandanna will be playing the role of Amitabh Bachchan's daughter in her upcoming movie 'Goodbye'.

2. Samantha Ruth Prabhu -  She is the 10th most searched female celebs in 2021 on Google. Her role as Raji in The Family Man 2 has gotten her wide recognition all over India. She won the Best Performance Female Award for the Series (The Family Man 2) in the OTT awards at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in 2021. She is part of dance piece in Pushpa. She was cast in Arrangements of Love directed by Philip John, the director of 'Downtown Abbey' marking her international debut in 2021.

3. Pooja Hegde - The actor bagged Best actress in a Leading Role (Telugu) In SIMA 2021 for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Her movie Most Eligible Bachelor opposite Akhil Akinneni was also a solid commercial success. After a successful year, she has Cirkus, Radhe Shyam, Beast and #ssmb28 lined up for 2022. The Radhe Shyam posters and music videos have the fans excited for her work.

4. Raashi Khanna - She was seen in Tughlaq Darbar on Netflix opposite Vijay Senupathi where she has made a good impression on the fans and gained a lot of praise from her fans. She also had Bhramam and Aranmanai 3, where the former got positive reviews while the later was seen getting mixed reviews. All in all she has had a good year.

5. Rakul Preet Singh - 2021 though mixed for Rakul Preet Singh with Konda Polam and Sardar ka Grandson getting mixed reviews, she has gained a lot of followers on Intragram for her fitness content and other photos. She has wrapped up some movies for us to watch next year. She is all set for her movie Runway 34. She will be seen opposite Ajay Devgan and Amitabh Bachchan.  She also wrapped up Attack with John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez.

6. Tamannah Bhatia - The Bahubali actor was a part of 'Entertainment ka All-Rounder' with Ajay Devgan to convince people to watch 'Seetimar' on Disney+Hotstar rather than Live cricket. She was seen as the coach for the women's team in Telangana in Seetimar where the critics said that she was seen as an actor performing with confidence. She was seen performing negative role in 'Maestro' which is a remake of Andhadhun. On playing a negative role she said in an interview, "As an actor, you are always hungry for challenging roles which allow you to expand your range,"
