Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed separation with husband Naga Chaitanya. A public post says they have decided to 'part ways as husband and wife to pursue own paths'. In a social media announcement, Samantha, who is a popular actor, mentioned she and her husband had had the good fortune of a decade long friendship.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, have been seen together in movies such as Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave and Autonagar Surya, tied the knot in 2017 when Samantha was 30 years old. The couple, as per reports, hosted two weddings - one in accordance with South India rituals preceded by a Christian wedding.
Naga Chaitanya is the son of famous film star Nagarjuna, who was seen in films like Santosham, Sivamani, Akhari Poratam among many others in Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Nagarjuna reacted to his son's divorce from Samantha calling it 'personal'. He took to Twitter and called it unfortunate and wished both of them good luck in future.
Nagarjuna was born Akkineni Nagarjuna Rao. When his son married Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Samantha took the name Akkineni. She is well known as Samantha Akkineni aside of her maiden name.

"To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us," read an excerpt from the statement.

The divorce was seen coming as speculation was rife about the couple facing issues. This was exacerbated after Samantha Prabhu Ruth dropped her surname Akkineni across her social media spaces.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu will next be seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Shaakuntalam.
But some strange commentary came from Ram Gopal Varma timed with this incident. He tweeted saying "DIVORCE should be more celebrated than MARRIAGE because in marriage , u don’t know what u are getting into, whereas in divorce u are getting out of what u have gotten into."
