1. Akhanda

Language: Telugu

Release date: December 2

A fantasy action film with an attractive ensemble, Akhanda is among the most anticipated releases on the list. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead as a fierce devotee of Lord Shiva, reports said the project was initially titled BB3. The official title was revealed in April this year. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, Akhanda is looking at a theatrical release. A trailer for the film that dropped two weeks ago has received rave responses from fans.

2. Chithirai Sevvanam

Release date: December 3

Pooja Kannan, the sister of Telugu and Tamil actor Sai Pallavi, makes her debut with Chithirai Sevvanam, a film that revolves around a touching father-daughter story that also stars Samuthirakani in the lead. Actor Rima Kallingal is on the cast list, playing a cop, as per reports. Popular stunt actor Stunt Silva has directed Chithirai Sevvanam, which is looking at a release on online streaming platform ZEE5.

3. Good Luck Sakhi

Language: Telugu

Release date: December 10

Good Luck Sakhi headlined by Keerthy Suresh has generated high buzz well in advance of its release. Directed and written by Nagesh Kukunoor, the film was announced in April 2019 and began shooting the same month. It was completed a year later, having halted due to the ">COVID-19 pandemic. Suresh stars as Sakhi, a girl from Telangana who apparently ends up bringing bad luck to everyone around her. Following a tragedy, she trains as a sharpshooter with her eye on national-level games.

4. Pushpa 

Language: Tamil

Release date: December 17

The multi-starrer Pushpa: The Rise boasts of a stellar cast that includes Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, making it an unmissable watch this film season. The first of two parts, Pushpa is a thriller set in Andhra Pradesh's Seshachalam Hills and revolves around real events of sandalwood smuggling in the area. The theatrical release of the Sukumar directorial coincides with the release of another anticipated film, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

5. Ghani

Language: Telugu

Release date: December 24

This sports drama starring Varun Tej as a boxer is directed by Kiran Korrapati and marks Saiee Manjrekar's debut in Tollywood. The release date for Ghani, named after the titular character in the film, was bumped up multiple times owing to the pandemic but is all set for a theatrical release this month. Fans are excited to see Tej in this power-packed avatar, more so because reports suggest the actor has trained for the film under Olympian boxer Tony Jeffries.
