Ranbir Kapoor To Go On A 6-Month Paternity Leave

He expressed his intention to dedicate his time to his daughter, Raha, acknowledging that he was unable to spend much time with her in the initial months after her birth due to his busy schedule. However, he added that he has now taken an extended break and plans to be at home for 5–6 months. Kapoor mentioned that he had been keen on taking paternity leave, and it came at the right moment. He also shared that Raha has become quite expressive.

He said, "She is crawling. She is recognising. She is giving so much love, and she is trying to speak words like Pa and Ma. It’s a beautiful time to be around her, and I am going to cherish this forever."

Raha, the couple's child, was born on November 6, 2022, following their marriage in April 2022. Previously, actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Kunal Khemmu, as well as well-known figures like Virat Kohli, Mark Zuckerberg, Alexis Ohanian, Prince William, and Karan Johar, all opted for paternity leaves, recognising its importance.

Earlier, he was seen alongside Shraddha Kapoor in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Currently, Kapoor is eagerly anticipating the release of Animal, in which he will be sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is scheduled for a theatrical premiere on December 1.

Following Animal, reports suggest that Kapoor is set to take on the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of the Ramayana, with filming set to commence next year. This movie is said to also feature Sai Pallavi and Yash in significant roles. Tiwari is reportedly preparing to begin production on his Ramayana adaptation in February 2024.

With Ranbir Kapoor's decision to prioritise paternity leave, it's expected that Alia Bhatt will be busy shooting for her upcoming film Jigra while he takes care of Raha. The movie, seemingly centred on a sister's deep affection for her brother and her resolute dedication to protecting him, is a collaborative production between Dharma Productions and Bhatt's own production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions.
