Dream was released in the theatres on April 26, 2023, and has been streaming on Netflix since July 2023.

Things To Know About K Drama Dream

1. Dream is based on a real-life Homeless World Cup event that has captured the viewers' imagination and is undoubtedly said to attract a new audience to South Korean films.

2. Park Seo-joon plays Hong-dae, the protagonist, a former football professional, in the film, and Lee Ji-Eun is cast opposite him in the film. She plays Kim In-Sun, an aspiring director who is making a documentary film about the homeless football team.

3. An ex-football professional finds himself in a tricky situation after assaulting a journalist. His temper had led his career into a sinking situation, and in an attempt to win back public support, he half-heartedly agreed to coach a homeless football team.

4. There is a documentary film crew that’s filming the team as they train for the match. Unfortunately, they are only complicating the situation by being interested in exploiting them rather than helping them. Gradually, Hon-dae begins to care for the team and learns about the players and stars caring for their well-being.

5. It is reported that certain aspects of the Netflix film are inspired by true stories of the real homeless World Cup tournament. While the event is real, the screenplay uses fictionalised scenes and characters to narrate the story.

7. The director of the film, Lee Byeong-Heon, had previously made a successful comedy film titled Extreme Job, which was released in 2019.
