Bollywood actress Richa Chadha and boyfriend Ali Fazal moved to a new abode in Mumbai recently. The couple had plans to tie the knot earlier this April. The Fukrey actress Chadha said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror that they both "wanted peace" and have moved into this place which is "close to the sea", away from "Bandra and Andheri, which are crawling with paparazzi." She further opened about their "fun" relationship and said that she is happy with her new home.
“The lease on my previous apartment had expired in March but the lockdown postponed the shift,” Chadha told Mirror, adding that they are now planning to live at the same house for a few years. Posting on Instagram, Chadha had confirmed that they started house-hunting together in August but the move was postponed due to the lockdown.
Calling Fazal a fun housemate and better cook, Chadha claimed, “He is fun, and unlike most boys, likes to help around. He chose the curtains without fuss; luckily, our aesthetics match for the most part. It’s good to finally be able to take decisions together, right from what soap to buy to which maid to hire. Ali is a better cook, specially when it comes to continental cuisine. When we went grocery shopping, his bag was bigger than mine. I enjoy organic farming and here we have a space to grow a kitchen garden of our own, which he is helping me with.”
The couple recently returned from Egypt after attending the El Gouna Film Festival and spending an intimate vacation there.
She also said that their new place which is in "a neighbourhood full of retired people, ...it is more secluded and affords some privacy. I don't have to dress up to go to the gym or to run errands."
She, however, added that Fazal is adjusting a lot with her two pet cats saying that he is "not used to pets and one of them is scared of him. Even he is adjusting to them."
Chadha and Fazal worked together in the Fukrey films and have been dating for over four years. Reportedly, in February, they had applied for marriage registration at a court in Mumbai.
