In a joint statement, they expressed that they have mutually and amicably chosen to part ways, with the primary focus being on the well-being of their two children. Emphasising the importance of privacy for themselves and their families during this transition, they requested that their privacy be respected.

The statement read, "We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us." The statement concluded with gratitude from Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani.

Esha acknowledged her oversight, recalling instances like forgetting to buy him a toothbrush or sending him off to work without checking his lunch.
