Renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra is embarking on a new venture in the world of film production through his company, Stage 5 Productions, as he celebrates three decades in the industry. The designer recently unveiled his production house, Stage 5 Productions, and unveiled plans for the development of three upcoming films.
The first project on the horizon is titled Bun Tikki. Scheduled to commence production in November 2023, this film will reunite veteran Bollywood actors Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi. After a significant hiatus, these celebrated actors will share the screen once again, joined by actor Abhay Deol.
Sharing the post, Malhotra wrote, ““The hard work of 3:5 years of #stage5production has also lead to curating and nurturing #BunTikki a special and sensitive film starting November 2023 with @abhaydeol @thezeenataman and @azmishabana18 directed by @farazarifansari produced by #jyotideshpande @malhotra_dinesh @marijkedesouza @officialjiostudios @stage5production,” he shared on Instagram.”

The film is under the direction of Faraz Arif Ansari. The production team includes Jyoti Deshpande, Manish Malhotra's business partner, alongside Dinesh Malhotra and Marijke Desouza, all of whom contribute to this endeavour. Stage 5 Productions and JioStudios are also involved in the project, promising an exciting cinematic journey.
Yesterday, the designer revealed the commencement of the inaugural film, Train From Chhapraula produced by his production house. Radhika Apte is set to take on a prominent role in this movie. Directed by Tisca Chopra, the film will also feature Divyenndu and Kusha Kapila.
Earlier this year, Manish Malhotra unveiled his plans to make his directorial debut with a biopic on the legendary actor Meena Kumari. The lead role in this film will be portrayed by the actor Kriti Sanon.
In an Instagram post, Malhotra shared his enduring passion for fashion, colours, and films and his remarkable journey that has taken him from costume designing to launching his very own film production company. He expressed his dedication to nurturing diverse artistic voices and presenting a wide array of stories through his newly established production house.
