Based on a 1995 novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. This movie follows the life of Chola emperor Arulmozhi Varman, well known as Raja Raja Chola. It is produced under Madras Talkies with Lyca Productions, with AR Rehman composing the background music.
