Guinness Names Saudi Arabia's Ritaj Alhazmi As Youngest Writer To Publish Book Series

Alhazmi was qualified for the world record of the youngest person to publish book series as soon as her second novel came out in 2019 which was verified when she was just 12 years 295 days old.

Authors take aeons to get published but landing the first break is a Herculean journey for many. However, for the 13-year-old Ritaj Hussain Alhazmi, the journey began quite early and now she's been named the world’s “youngest person to publish a book series (female)” by Guinness World Records. Three of her books are already in print while the fourth one will be released soon.

The elated author shared the news on her Twitter and wrote, "May 2nd marks the day where I witnessed the attempt of achieving a record titled ‘youngest series writer’ in #Guinness World Records."

Ritaj Alhazmi Creates Guinness World Record

Alhazmi, who was born in Dhahran city in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, said to the media that being a world record holder is a big achievement. "Being a Guinness World Records holder is a big achievement that I want to share with young writers. I want to motivate and encourage young writers to take challenges and face obstacles," she said while accepting the certificate.

The young author credits her inspiration to authors like Joanne Rendell and JK Rowling. Reportedly, since she was seven, she showed interest in reading and writing stories and was encouraged greatly by her parents.

Alhazmi's first novel was Treasure of the Lost Sea which was published in 2019. However, when she'd first written the book it was not up to the mark. She then took lessons in fiction writing by Jessica Brody and which shaped her first book. Her second book, Portal of the Hidden World, was published later that year.

Her third novel of the series titled Beyond the Future World came out in 2020 and she is presently working on the fourth book titled The Passage to the Unknown.

Reportedly, Alhazmi was qualified for the world record of the youngest person to publish book series as soon as her second novel came out in 2019 which was verified when she was just 12 years 295 days old.

Bella J Dark, a British author, holds the record for the youngest person to publish a book (female) after her book The Lost Cat was published earlier this year.

The author's message for everyone, especially her peers, read, "Dream big, do it now, don't wait for later. As I said before, ideas come and go, and so do opportunities."
