72 Hoorain is an upcoming movie that is based on how terrorist organisations brainwash young people to join them by misguiding them through religious promises.  

72 Hoorain is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and the trailer says the movie is based on true events and is set against the backdrop of bomb blasts in Mumbai. The movie shows how young men are brainwashed by terrorist organisations and told that they would get to heaven if they conduct terrorist activities. The movie is broiled in a controversy regarding Censor Board certification and here's everything you should know about it.

72 Hoorain Movie

1. 72 Hoorain was premiered at the International Film Festival of India in 2019 where it won the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal Special Mention.
2. The movie went on to win National Film Award For Best Direction in the year 2021 but was also considered to be controversial
3. Earlier this month, prominent religious and political leaders in Kashmir decried the negative portrayal of Muslims in '72 Hoorain', saying the movie 'hurts the sentiments' of the community.
4. The movie is slated to release on July 7 but the CBFC recently denied certification to the film's trailer, citing that the movie shows objectionable scenes that may be offensive to the audience.
5. CBFC  reportedly asked makers to remove scenes like the one with a dead body's feet, a reference to Quran and some scenes including animals.
6. However, Ashoke Pandit, the co-producer of the film, as well as director Chauhan were upset with this decision and pointed out that the movie won a National award without any cuts or exclusions then why are they required for its public release.
7. The board reportedly gave a censor certificate to the movie but denied the green signal to the trailer, which was supposed to be launched on June 28 in theatres.
8. The makers expressed their disagreement with CBFC's decision and asked Chairperson Prasoon Joshi to address the issue. They have said they will move to higher authorities about the issue.
9. Amid the controversy, the uncut trailer of the film was released on June 28 and is going viral on the internet. The trailer includes foot scene, the scene of dogs chasing as well as the Quran reference.
