Here are some excerpts from the interview
What drives you toward the idea of content creation?
I am a passionate content creator, podcaster, and digital entrepreneur. My journey as a mother inspired me to explore the world of food content creation, leading to the birth of my Instagram page @mom_of_boys_ritu_singh. Through this platform, I share healthy, innovative recipes, particularly focusing on tiffin ideas for kids and the revival of lost Punjabi recipes. My mission is to make healthy eating fun and accessible for families while collaborating with renowned brands like Quaker Oats, Jutaji Shoes, Gritzo, Pure Fragrances, etc.
In addition to my food content, I am the founder of the Stri SheInspires podcast, where I spotlight inspiring stories of women entrepreneurs and leaders whose work motivates and empowers others. Through insightful interviews and meaningful conversations, I provide a platform for these remarkable women to share their journeys, encouraging other women to pursue their passions fearlessly. To date, I have interviewed numerous women who have made a lasting impact in their respective fields.
My digital presence has enabled me to inspire a wide audience, while my ventures continue to blend my love for food, community, and storytelling.
How did you use digital platforms and tools to build your business?
Technology and the digital world have been pivotal in growing my business as a content creator, podcaster, and entrepreneur. I started with healthy tiffin ideas and Punjabi recipes but quickly expanded to engage thousands. Social media tools like algorithms, hashtags, Stories, and Reels have amplified my reach, connecting me with parents, food enthusiasts, and health-conscious individuals.
Platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and podcasting tools have enabled me to create high-quality content with minimal investment. My podcast, Stri SheInspires, thrives by sharing stories of women entrepreneurs globally, leveraging digital platforms for distribution and promotion. Collaborating with leading brands has brought sponsorships and endorsements, boosting growth.
Analytics tools help tailor content to audience preferences, fostering engagement and successful partnerships. Digital technology has scaled my business while building a vibrant, interactive community that continuously drives its success.
How do you envision your future with content creation?
The future opportunities and prospects of my business are expansive and rooted in innovation, community-building, and empowerment. With my channel, the growing demand for healthy, accessible meal solutions presents an excellent opportunity to scale my content by offering personalized meal plans, e-books, and partnerships with more health-centric brands. Expanding into workshops and cooking classes is another avenue to engage directly with my audience, fostering a deeper connection.
For my podcast, Stri SheInspires, the potential lies in expanding its reach by featuring diverse voices across industries, forming strategic partnerships with organizations that support women’s empowerment, and hosting live events or webinars. This will allow the podcast to transform from a digital platform into a community-driven movement, encouraging dialogue and mentorship.
Both ventures align with current trends in digital content, healthy living, and women’s leadership, positioning them to grow significantly in the future while continuing to inspire and empower a global audience.
What does your business model look like?
My business model is centred around creating value through content that inspires and empowers others. Through my Instagram page, I share healthy, family-friendly recipes and collaborate with leading brands to promote wholesome living. Revenue is generated through brand partnerships, sponsored content, and product endorsements. Additionally, my podcast, Stri SheInspires, highlights the journeys of women entrepreneurs and leaders, with potential revenue streams from sponsorships, collaborations, and live events. Both platforms focus on building a strong community, leveraging digital content to inspire, educate, and engage audiences while offering brands the opportunity to connect meaningfully with their target market.
Can you mention the funding you started with?
I started my business with minimal initial funding, relying primarily on personal resources and organic growth strategies. My focus was on leveraging free digital platforms like Instagram and YouTube to build a community and showcase my content. As my audience grew, I began collaborating with brands and generating revenue through sponsored posts, partnerships, and product endorsements. The business has been self-sustained through these collaborations, with no external investment or significant financial backing, allowing for organic and steady growth while maintaining creative control over my ventures.
What are the key challenges you faced in this journey?
The biggest challenge was to keep my Instagram updated and aligned with trends. As a content creator, I know it’s tough to keep your audience engaged. As a podcaster, it’s equally important to secure the right guests. Being a naturally reserved person, I had to step out of my comfort zone, attend events, and secure valuable brand partnerships to ensure they aligned with my niche while balancing various roles, including content creation, podcasting, and serving as president of Tricity Woman Entrepreneur.
