A recently released video shows a couple playfully engaging in a romantic gesture. The woman takes a sip of a soft drink from a bottle and transfers the liquid from her mouth to her male companion’s mouth.
Passengers around them are visibly shocked and uncomfortable at the bizarre act. While the exact date of the video is not known, the video is now doing viral rounds around the internet. The Delhi Metro in response emphasised the importance of fellow passengers reporting upon witnessing such incidents.
The X (formerly Twitter) handle that shared the video captioned it, “Should Delhi Metro be closed now, or is it a place for entertainment?”

Despite the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) promoting awareness through social media and repeatedly encouraging passengers to behave decently and report such inappropriate incidents upon witnessing them, the people who do engage in such acts don’t seem to adhere to the advice.
One user who claimed to be a regular commuter in the Delhi metro said it is disgusting to watch how people behave in inappropriate ways on public transport. They said that there wasn’t a single staff inside the train, and people created a nuisance by playing music and videos at high volumes on the speaker, despite repeated announcements condemning the act.
Another user opined that such incidents were repeatedly happening because necessary steps were not being taken. The user urged that fellow passengers should oppose such inappropriate acts ranging from making reels, to engaging in inappropriate PDAs and arguments and take these people out of the metro.
Passengers who engage in such inappropriate behaviour on the metro train should be barred from taking the transport for a certain period of time and asked to pay a fine amount. Only if some form of stringent action is imposed on them will these people refrain from doing such publicity stunts to garner attention.
