Watch: Bride Surprises Groom With Kiss, Makes Him Blush

While kissing the bride is a ritual in Christian weddings and not a big deal in the West, Indians still shy away from kissing or being overly affectionate towards their partner in public. However, not for this bride who kissed her groom during varmala (Hindu Wedding Ritual). 

Indian couples hesitate to indulge in PDA in public or in front of family and elders, sometimes out of respect and other times to avoid their teasing and comments. Though times have changed and PDA is no longer obscenity in urban households, rural families are still quite traditional and couples even have to stay away from each other in the presence of elders. Talking about PDA, a video from a wedding is going viral on the internet which shows a cute interaction between the bride and the groom.

Bride Surprises Groom With Kiss

The video shows the varmala ceremony in which the bride is ready to put the garland on the groom. She quickly leans forward to kiss the groom on the cheek before putting the garland as she smiles shyly. The groom looks surprised and blushes as he puts garland on the bride. The wedding guests cheer loudly on the bride's action and some of them seem to encourage the groom to kiss her back. However, he subtly refuses with a slight smile on his face.

The interaction is going viral on the internet and people gave funny reactions to the video. Such gestures at weddings are quite common these days as everybody is trying to do something unique on their big day. A few plans a grand entry on a chariot, or some try distinct rituals, but this bride decided to ditch the shyness of a conventional bride at her wedding and expressed her affection openly.
