Frank Talerico, the hotel owner said that the staff was shocked that someone stole a life-size reindeer. He believes that the women were bold enough to steal the holiday display because they had been drinking at a nearby tiki bar.

Talerico said that when the woman brought the stolen reindeer back, she also brought cookies and cake for the staff. He added that the woman didn't even remember stealing the holiday display.

A person that the woman knows saw the story on the news and informed the woman that she was the one who stole the reindeer. Talerico said, "she saw the clip and realised what she did and that it was something she should not have done".

The woman who was initially branded as a Grinch with sticky fingers, but her returning the holiday display and apologising to the staff via cookies and cake has redeemed her.

Talerico said, "people can make mistakes, but when they do the right thing and fix the mistakes, it's just as good as not making the mistake". He added that the woman was "definitely on Santa's nice list".

Since the woman returned the reindeer to the hotel, Talerico will not be pressing charges against her.
