The achievement earned her the official world record for the highest number of people Barani flipped over in such a manner.

Posting a video of Mia Peterson performing the challenge on their Instagram handle, the Guinness World Record wrote, "Most people barani flipped over a quarter pipe on roller skates 12 by Mia Peterson US." The teenage prodigy has been recognised as one of the most accomplished youth achievers by Guinness World Records. Her outstanding achievement will be highlighted in the upcoming 2024 edition of the book.

Mia Peterson began roller skating at the age of 11 when her sister received a pair of skates as a birthday gift. The Guinness World Record reported that the sisters embarked on their skating venture together and frequented the skating rink.

By the age of 13, Mia Peterson had grown extremely fond of the sport and had become a regular visitor to the skate park. She also made some good friends from the skating community. One of the hardest tricks that Peterson learned that took her performance to the next level was the barani flip, a gymnastic manoeuvre comprising a front flip with a half twist.

Speaking to the Guinness World Record, Peterson said that when she first attempted a flip on roller skates, she tried it on a foam pit. Once she got comfortable in a form pit, she moved on to training in an airbag. She revealed that only when she was confident with her rotation and the flip, she started attempting on cement.

Peterson shared that she used to take baby steps until she landed the flip. She disclosed that it wasn’t easy at first and that it took some tough falls here and there to master the trick. She revealed that once she had split her chin and got 27 stitches. She had also over-rotated and landed on her stomach, breaking some of her ribs when she attempted a front flip for the first time.
