The host, Pablo Motos, asked, "How do you say ‘Modern Family?" in Spanish, prompting her to pause with confusion. Vergara then fired back, "I say it wrong. Oh, because you speak better English than me? Ah." The actor said further, "How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States? How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?" Motos responded by asserting his lack of concern for the Golden Globes, declaring, "The Golden Globes are minor awards; they don’t matter to me a bit."
