The 97th Academy Awards took place on March 3 in Los Angeles, Hollywood, California. Sean Baker’s Anora emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home the Best Film award, along with Best Director, Best Actress, Best Editing, and Best Original Screenplay.
Oscars 2025 Winners List: Anora Shines, Mikey Madison Wins Best Actress
Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his performance in The Brutalist, while Mikey Madison secured Best Actress for Anora. In the supporting categories, Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, and Zoe Saldana won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez.
Technical awards saw Dune: Part Two winning Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.
While Wicked received recognition for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
The Best Makeup and Hairstyling award went to The Substance.
The Brutalist also won Best Cinematography (Lol Crawley) and Best Original Score (Daniel Bloomberg).
In the screenplay categories, Anora won Best Original Screenplay, while Conclave was awarded Best Adapted Screenplay.
The Best International Feature Film award went to I'm Still Here, and No Other Land won Best Documentary Feature Film. Flow was named Best Animated Film, while In The Shadow of The Cypress took home Best Animated Short Film.
In the short film categories, I'm Not a Robot won Best Live Action Short Film, and The Only Girl in the Orchestra won Best Documentary Short Film.
