Met Gala 2024 Date and Theme

Mark your calendars for Monday, May 6, 2024, when the Met Gala will kick off with the theme "The Garden of Time". Inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story of the same title, this theme invites attendees to interpret time and nature through their fashion choices. Fans can expect to see an array of botanical and floral looks gracing the iconic Met Gala red carpet.

Notably, the exhibition will feature approximately 250 items from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection, including rare pieces like a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877, displayed via innovative methods such as video animation, light projection, AI, CGI, and sensory stimulation.
