Earlier today, Plaza who had been announced as a presenter at this year's Golden Globes was absent from the event. However, one Golden Globe winner sent his love to Plaza, just days after the family tragedy.

In his best-director acceptance speech during Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, "The Brutalist" filmmaker Brady Corbet sent his support to Plaza after Baena's death news became public.

"Tonight, my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff's family," Corbet said as he concluded his remarks. Several stars have been sending support to Plaza and mourning Baena in recent days.

Alison Brie, who starred in several of Baena's films including "Horse Girl," wrote on Instagram, "Rest in peace, my friend." She also shared a post from Adam Pally, who said, "My heart breaks for my friend Aubrey and the Baena family and for all of us who spent time on his sets or at his house or in his orbit."

Baena graduated from New York University with a degree in film before moving to Los Angeles to pursue directing. He worked in production under filmmakers Robert Zemeckis and David O'Russell, before breaking away to make his own films. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with the release of the zombie comedy film Life After Beth, which featured Plaza.
