Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar had two wedding ceremonies yesterday. The first ceremony took place in the daylight with the two getting married in a Malayali wedding along with traditional attires and rituals. In the evening, they got married according to Bengali wedding traditions. At both the weddings, the couple looked happy and could not stop smiling.

Brides smiling and having fun is something looked down upon by society as they are 'suppose' to be coy, shy and smiling but not showing their teeth while doing so. Thankfully, new age brides are not just smiling widely with all their teeth on display but are also having fun at times when traditionally they are supposed to cry a river like in Bidaai (farewell).

Mouni Roy

The actor is known for her killer dance moves and she did not shy away from flaunting them in her own wedding with Suraj Nambiar. She twirled and laughed while maintaining her dance poses at most of her ceremonies, especially the post-wedding ceremonies. She hardly cared about what society will think about her happiness and grand moves when the society only liked the brides being hit under a pallu and keeping silent on their own big day. Cheers to Roy and her dance moves!

Shraddha Arya

The Kundali Bhagya fame got married on November 16 last year to Rahul Nagal, who is currently working with the Navy. The actor in all the posts looked happy and cheerful with her friends. Though she broke the stereotype in one viral video where she is seen laughing and asking her friends to be jealous of her during her Bidaai ceremony. Brides are expected to cry when leaving with the husband but she chose to smile and laugh on her happy day.

Ankita Lokhande

In the pictures shared by the Pavitra Rishta fame Lokhande of her wedding with Vicky Jain, she looks happy and bubbly. In one particular video of her bachelorette party, she is seen dancing to songs like 'Maine sasural nahi jaungi..' and having a gala time. Even during the other ceremonies, she came up with the wackiest of expressions like tongue sticking out, amongst others. One finds it refreshing to see brides being themselves on their day rather than what norms have ascribed them to be.

Gul Panag

In 2011, she got married to Rishi Attari in Chandigarh and she did not let go of one moment to have fun at her wedding as she arrived with the groom on the sidecar of the bike. In an Instagram post, she wrote, "8 years and counting. I knew I wanted a wedding that was super fun, small and intimate. Had no idea how to go about it. Then when we attended Shruti Seth and Danish Aslan's wedding in Goa--we found our inspiration. Our primary goal was to enjoy the wedding with our loved ones. My mother was the 'wedding planner' and she executed our vision to perfection featuring every single custom with a fun twist!"
