Woman Loses Leg To Flesh-Eating Bacteria Contracted In The Bahamas

Jennifer Barlow, vacationing in the Bahamas, contracted flesh-eating bacteria in a cut from ocean water, leading to a near-fatal experience, septic shock, and the loss of her leg. What followed was weeks of coma, 12 surgeries, and eventual leg amputation.
