Sarah Everard: The disappearance of Sarah Everard has now taken a new turn. A metropolitan police officer was arrested for not being 'on duty' on the day she disappeared.

Everard went missing after leaving her friend's house in Clapham on 3 March. Assistant Commissioner Nick Ephgrave has said "Our inquiries suggest that this officer was not on duty at the time of Sarah’s disappearance." Besides the officer, a woman too has been arrested "on suspicion of assisting an offender." Sarah's uncle Nick Everard opened up about how worried the family is right now. “These are desperate times for the family. We know the police are doing everything they can but it’s the not knowing what has happened after four days is agonising," he said.

The Met police said that they found human remains while searching for Sarah Everard. Met Commissioner Cressida Dick said, " found, very sadly, what appears to be human remains", near the Ashford area.

  1. Sarah Everard is a marketing executive who went missing after leaving her friend's house in Clapham at about 9 pm on 3 March.
  2. On March 6, the metropolitan police released a CCTV image of Everard. It is speculated that she had walked through Clapham Common after leaving her friend's house and was walking towards her home in Brixton.
  3. The police then released footage showing Sarah walking along the A205 Poynders Road towards Tulles Hill, south of Brixton. A doorbell-type camera had recorded her movements.
  4. Everard was last seen in a green rain jacket, navy blue trousers with a white diamond pattern, and turquoise and orange trainers.
  5. The Scotland Yard's Specialist Crime Command is heading the investigation as it is said to be of 'complex nature.'
  6. The specialist officers have already received about 120 calls from the public with regards to the case.
  7. On Tuesday, March 9, sniffer dogs were made to search in and around the site where Sarah Everard had reportedly walked. The investigating officers had even searched the pond in Clapham Common and drains along the A205.
  8. Many new images of the woman wearing the aforementioned coat have appeared.
  9. Forensic officers are now investigating the area around Poynders Road, and Uber is using its smartphone software to find out which of its drivers had driven down the route Sarah had taken.
  10. Assistant Commissioner Ephgrave, said that he hopes that Sarah is alive. He also assured that the detectives are working at top speed to find her.
