The influencer faced backlash on the internet following a photoshoot in which she posed with seemingly disadvantaged people. Netizens called her out for using poverty as an aesthetic in her shoot.
Kaul posted several pictures on her Instagram which shows how she is posing wearing the SabyasachixHM collection with poor people in the background. Twitterati called out the pictures as objectionable and accused her of using "poverty as a prop". They also demanded to know whether the people were being paid for being in the frame.
Many also pointed out that this isn't the first time that Kaul was doing this as she used poor people as props quite frequently in the past as well.

Who Is Nitibha Kaul?
Before being a social media influencer, Kaul was an account strategist, having completed her graduation from the Shaheed Sukhdev College Of Business Studies, Delhi University in New Delhi.
Being the daughter of a businessman father and advocate mother, Kaul was born and brought up in the country capital of Delhi. Her family roots are reportedly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kaul made her television debut and came into the limelight following her appearance in season 10 of the popular reality show Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan in the year 2016.
Reportedly, Kaul left her job at Google India to join the reality TV show after her name was announced as a contestant for the show.
Kaul was initially much loved and praised in the show. Later she became more controversial and online hangtags calling for her elimination surfaced on the internet.
Moreover, Kaul was also interested in modelling from an early age. She was a contestant for the Miss India Beauty Pageant in 2015.
