Who Is Dipti Dhotre? Actor Starring In Marathi Film Bhonga

Dipti Dogre: The teaser of the upcoming Marathi film Bhonga helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil has been released.

The film questions the connection between loudspeakers and religion. Amol Kagne, the lead actor, shared the official teaser which gives a sneak-peek into the story of a nine-month-old boy who suffers from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Besides Kagne, the film will also feature Dipti Dhotre, Kapil Gadsurkar, Shripad Joshi, Akash Gharat, Dilip Dombe and Sudhakar Birajdar in pivotal roles.

The film Bhonga, which won the Best Marathi Film award in the feature film category at the 66th National Film Awards, was initially slated to release in 2018 but it was delayed due the pandemic. Now the film will have a theatrical release on September 24.

Here's what we know about Marathi actor Dipti Dhotre:

-The actor who hails from Solapur moved to Pune in 2011 and joined an advertising agency. After work became monotonous she decided to move to Mumbai in 2013.

-Dhotre’s first job in the entertainment industry was that of a TV channel anchor on a Marathi show.

-Speaking of the time none of her films got a release, the actor told Hindustan Times,  “It was disappointing and frustrating. But, I had no option. I had to believe in myself and continue my work. I had no back-up plan. I fought with my family to pursue this profession, so, I could not go back home either. It did get difficult at times but I never gave up”.

-Dipti Dhotre began her career as a lead actor with the Hindi film Dhara 302 helmed by Jitendra Singh Naruka in 2016.

-Later, she entered the Marathi film industry with the film Sarvanaam directed by Girish Mohite the following year.

-Although the film didn’t see a commercial release, it went on to win many awards at several national and international film festivals and gave the actor more opportunities.
