Actor Shruti Haasan opened up about her time when she was not an actor. Before joining the film industry, occasionally Shruti used to sing English melodies at a restaurant in Mumbai. Haasan is a singer, lyricist and composer apart from being an actor.

In an interview with Mashable India, Shruti mentioned a restaurant in Juhu Hotel, where she used to sing every now and then. During those days, nobody knew who Shruti was and what she was up to, expressed Haasan.
She also mentioned the name of English hits which she had sung in the restaurant. Such as songs by Celine Dion, My Heart Will Go On and Bryan Adams' numbers.
Shruti Haasan is an established playback singer who had also performed on MTV unplugged with A. R. Rahman on Ranjha Ranjha from the film Raavan. In 2012, she was also nominated for the Filmfare award for Best female playback singer Tamil for the song Kannazhaga Kaalazhaga for the movie 3 and in 2015 for the music Yendi Yendi from the movie Puli.
In 2009 she made her Bollywood debut with the film Luck. Her roles in Hindi films so far have been in popular ones like D-Day, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, and Gabbar is Back.
In May, Shruti had told the media that since the advent of COVID-19, she feels scared to shoot on a set without wearing a mask. She also added that she has to get back to work as she pay her own bills; she doesn't have her dad and mom to help her.
