When is Meenakshi Sundareshwar releasing: After Pagglait and Ludo, Sanya Malhotra is gearing up for yet another OTT release. The actor will be seen alongside Abhimanyu Dassani in the upcoming romantic-comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar.

Directed by Vivek Soni, the rom-com is about a newly married couple in a long-distance relationship. Justin Prabhakaran has given music for this Karan Johar production, while Soni has written the film, alongside Aarsh Vora.
The trailer for the film was criticised by many for its stereotypical representation of Tamilians and for casting Hindi-speaking actors in regional characters. However, the film does refrain from having its actors speaking in Hindi with a Southern accent.
What's Meenakshi Sundareshwar about?
">Trailer suggests that the film is about a young couple- Meenakshi and Sundareshwar who agree to an arranged marriage as per their parents' wishes. While Sundareshwar is an engineer who wants to work at an MNC instead of joining his family business, Meenakshi is a Rajinikanth fan who desires to work for a small company where she can make a big difference.
When Sundareshwar secures a job in Bangalore he has to move away from his family, however, Meenakshi stays back with the rest of his clan in Madurai. The newly married couple then tries various methods to make their long-distance marriage work- like growing plants together at their respective places and always staying connected via video calls and messages.
However, the physical distance between them eventually takes and toll and their relationship comes close to being undone forever. Will Meenakshi and Sundareshwar be able to save their marriage?
