Tamas to Badhaai Ho: 5 of Surekha Sikri best roles:

1. Badhaai Ho

Surekha Sikri played the role of Durga, a relatable mother-in-law who has frequent tussles with her daughter-in-law Priyamvada. She tries to dominate her son Jeetu and taunts his wife every now and then. Just like everyone else in the family, she is upset with Priyamvada's 'late pregnancy' but supports her when her relatives ridicule her for it. Needless to say, this sweet and sour saas-bahu jodi won our heart.

2. Tamas

Based on Bhisham Sahni's novel, Tamas got Surekha Sikri win her First National Film Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role. The film portrays the plight of the common people in the backdrop of partition. Sikri's role as Rajo stays with us even after all these years.
