Sherni Release: Vidya Balan Starrer Available For Streaming

Stream Sherni: Actor Vidya Balan's digital release Sherni premiered on June 18 at midnight, Indian Standard Time. The forest-thriller is now available for streaming worldwide on the platform. This is Balan's second digital release after Shakuntala Devi, which was released on the same platform in 2020.

The trailer of Sherni released its trailer on June 2, on the YouTube channel of Prime Video India, the platform that is hosting the film, and was also shared by Balan on her social media. In the caption of her post, the actor wrote, "Be courageous. Be strong. Be fearless. It’s time for #Sherni to roar!"

What To Expect From Sherni

Balan will be seen in the role of a forest officer in the film, who is trying to solve a conflict between humans and nature. Her superiors doubt her skills just because she is a woman. The film has instances of casual sexism which mostly come the way of the lead from male characters. However Balan's "Vidya" challenges all these stigmas through the film.

To play her role efficiently, and to do justice to her avatar of a forest officer, the actor reportedly met real-life women forest officers to learn about their work and the challenges that they face at their workplace.

Apart from Vidya Balan, the film features several well-known actors in supporting roles. Directed by Amit Masurkar, the film has an ensemble cast of Ila Arjun, Neeraj, Kabi, Brijendra Kala, Vijay Raaz, and Sharat Saxena.
