The Shining Girls is an upcoming American thriller streaming television series based on Lauren Beukes' novel of the same name, published in 2013. The series will star Elisabeth Moss and Wagner Moura as the primary characters, with Jamie Bell, Phillipa Soo, and Amy Brenneman playing supporting roles.

Moss will also serve as the show's director and producer. Silk Luisa (writer/creator) was enlisted by Apple to convert the novel into a TV series for their platform. Shining Girls is also credited to her as the showrunner. Meanwhile, through his company, Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Michael Hampton joined the project as executive producers.

On March 29th, Apple TV released the first trailer for Shining Girls, and the trailer is an indicator that the series will have plenty of twists and turns. The nearly two-minute trailer gives us a glimpse of Moss's frantic character as she tries to discover the unidentified killer and come to terms with her role in the crime. Watch the trailer ">here.

Shining Girls Plot and Cast:

The plot revolves around Kirby Mazrachi, who is a Chicago reporter who survives a horrific attack only to find her world shifting as she pursues her assailant. When Kirby discovers that a recent murder case is oddly similar to her own, she teams up with veteran but disturbed reporter Dan Velazquez to track down her assailant. As they become aware that these cold cases are linked, their own personal traumas, as well as Kirby's hazy reality, allow her assailant to stay one step ahead.

Kirby Mazrachi is played by Elisabeth Moss, Dan is played by Wagner Moura, Harper Curtis is played by Jamie Bell, Jin-Sook is played by Phillipa Soo, and Rachel is played by Amy Brenneman.

Shining Girls Release Date:

The show will include eight episodes and will premiere on Apple TV+ on April 29, 2022, in the crime, drama, and thriller genres. The first three episodes will be available right away on the streaming service, and after that, a new episode will be released every Friday.
