Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram and shared that she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Myositis.

Prabhu shared a photo of herself connected to an Intravenous (IV) drip and she was making a heart with her hands.

The actor wrote in her caption that she was diagnosed with Myositis and opened up about her health issues. Prabhu said that she hoped to share the news after her Myositis went into remission, but it took longer than she hoped.

"I am slowly realising that we don't always need to put up a strong front," said the actor. Prabhu added that she was still working on accepting "this vulnerability" and that it was a struggle.

Prabhu began by saying that the audience's reaction to the trailer for Yashodha was "overwhelming". Prabhu added that the love she received made it easier to share with her fans and gave her the strength to deal with challenges thrown at her.

The actor revealed that the doctors were "confident" that she would make a complete recovery very soon. Prabhu opened up about having good days and bad days, physically and emotionally. She wrote, "When it feels like I can't handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes".

Prabhu added she was "one more day closer to recovery" and signed off by saying "this too shall pass".

People took to the comment section to show their love and support for Prabhu. Actor and playback singer Raashii Khanna wrote, "Love and light to you, you are amazing always".

Earlier, there were reports that Prabhu flew out of India for her treatment as she was unwell.

Myositis

Myositis is an autoimmune disease which is generally characterised by the inflammation of muscles. The most basic symptoms include fatigue, muscle pain, breathing problems, and trouble swallowing. The symptoms can appear gradually over time or rapidly.

Some types of the autoimmune disease are associated with skin rashes. Excluding one type of myositis, women are more likely to be affected by the disease than men.
