The show Panchayat originally premiered in the year 2020. The story revolved around Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who has a difficult time finding work that is suitable for his qualifications. He eventually resorts to working as a secretary for a panchayat in the isolated village of Phullera, Uttar Pradesh.

The upcoming season will focus on Abhishek's test preparation as well as a potential love interest in Rinky, Pradhan's daughter, played by Pooja Singh. Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), on the other hand, told the DM in the first season that she would devote her time to learning the ways and duties of a Sarpanch and would no longer allow her husband to serve in her place.

Manju Devi's journey as an operating Sarpanch is scheduled to be featured in the new season, with her taking issues into her own hands while competing with new competitors for the position.
