Reports suggest Clarke will be joining an already impressive cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as the shape-shifting character named Skrull Talos, and Kingsley Ben-Adir as the leader of a Skrull group that has been infiltrating Earth for years. Deadline reported that One Night in Miami star Ben-Adir will be one of the prime villains on the show. Oscar-winning British star Olivia Colman, who is nominated this year for the best-supporting actress Academy Award for her role in The Father, is in talks to join the series as well. Check out Secret Invasion cast so far

1. The upcoming show is based on the famous comic bookby the same name. The series is set to air on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar worldwide.

2. It will feature Jackson, reprising his MCU role of Nick Fury, and Mendelsohn, returning as the shape-shifting Skrull Talos, attempting to stop "a faction of shapeshifting" alien race who have been living on Earth in disguise for years. Ben-Adir, who recently played Barack Obama on Showtime’s The Comey Rule, will play a significant role as well.

3. The series' plot was set up in the Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credits scene, which revealed that the two people Talos and Skrull Soren (played by Sharon Blynn) were posing as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, and have been tasked by the real Fury to watch over the planet. It was, however, unclear for how long they have been operating here on Earth.

4. Reportedly, Clarke has already signed the deal and is now the latest actor from GoT after Kit Harington and Richard Madden to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both the actors have been cast in The Eternals, which is slated to premiere on November 5, 2021.

5. The alien race Skrulls were introduced in Captain Marvel.

6. The star cast also includes Colman, who is an award-winning actor herself, having won an Oscar, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs. She was last seen as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s The Crown season three and four. Reportedly, she is in final negotiations to join the cast. It is still unclear who Colman would play in Secret Invasion. Colman is also in the talks to voice a role in the upcoming Sony Pictures Animation’s The Mitchells vs the Machines.

7. The Hollywood Reporter claimed Kyle Bradstreet, who worked on the acclaimed cyber-thriller series Mr Robot, is writing the series with a shoot planned in UK and Europe later this year. The show is yet to find a director. Bradstreet will also be an executive producer of the Secret Invasion series.

8. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed the series will run for six episodes only. "We're interested in the political paranoia aspect of Secret Invasion and really showcasing the stars with Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, two amazing actors that you want to have in any series, and we're very lucky to have them for that," he told Collider.
