Emilia Clarke Joins Marvel's Secret Invasion: The Cast So Far

Secret Invasion cast: Marvel's Secret Invasion series has cast Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in a key role. But what role she’s playing in the upcoming show is still under wraps. Secret Invasion will mark  Clarke's debut in the Marvel universe.

Reports suggest she will be joining Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman in the series.

Here's what we know about Marvel's Secret Invasion cast so far:

Based on a group of shape-shifting aliens that have been infiltrating Earth for years Secret Invasion has Jackson reprising his MCU role of Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn reprising his role from Captain Marvel. While Mendelsohn will play Skrull Talos as he did in the feature film, Deadline reported that One Night in Miami star Ben-Adir will play a leading villain role in the show.

Variety recently reported that Oscar winner Olivia Colman is in talks to join the cast of the show which finds its source from the 2008 Marvel comic book series by the same name. Colman’s role on the show is not yet revealed, but she had previously told Vulture that she’s always wanted to play a Marvel villain. “I’m not sure I fit the mold, though,” she said. “Somebody with superpowers would be really fun, but I’m not sure how many middle-aged women they have in Marvel.”

Four-time Emmy nominee for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game of Thrones, Clarke is also a multiple Critics Choice Award nominee and was the 2018 recipient of the BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year. She has acted in films like Last Christmas, Me Before You, Terminator Genisys, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.  She is also in the talks to voice a role in the upcoming animated film The Amazing Maurice.

Clarke is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member and was also noted as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People.
