Prithviraj
Prithviraj is a historical action ">drama and biography of Prithviraj Chauhan, a legendary warrior king. It is one of the most talked-about period drama films of 2022. The majority of the story centres on Chauhan's leadership of the First Battle of Tarain. Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar play key roles in the film. The film, which was directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in significant parts.
Shamshera
The historical action-drama movie is based on a dacoit tribe that rose to power to fight for their rights and independence against the British in 1800s pre-independence India. The tale is a retelling of "The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood" by Howard Pyle. Karan Malhotra's film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Ronit Roy.
RRR
RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, is another masterpiece on the list of Hindi period films in 2022. The film unites the biggest names from both Bollywood and the South. The fictional 1920s period action movie centres on two renowned rebels who leave their home countries and how they start fighting for their nation. The cast of the film includes Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody. RRR was released in 10 languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It also marks Bhatt's Telugu debut.
Radhe Shyam
The sci-fi love story has been making headlines for a while. The romantic drama film, starring Prabhas, Pooja Hegde, Raaj Vishwakarma, and Riddhi Kumar, is set in Europe in the 1970s. Prabhas as Vikramaditya is a well-known palmist who consistently makes accurate future forecasts. He avoids relationships because he believes that his future will be devoid of romance and marriage. However, he develops feelings for Hedge as Dr Prerana Chakraborty follows their train encounter. Prerana and Vikramaditya get to know one another as their love blossoms. Now, Vikramaditya must make a decision between his one true love and the future he has always believed in.
Ponniyin Selvan: Part-1
The renowned director Mani Ratnam is behind the epic historical action drama Ponniyin Selvan-I. Ponniyin Selvan, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy, is one of the best-selling Tamil books on which this film is based. The five-part historical fiction novel was initially going to be a stand-alone movie, but it was ultimately decided that it would be presented in two cinematic portions. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R. Parthiban are among the ensemble cast members of Ponniyin Selvan-I.
Gangubai Kathiabadi
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of the Bollywood drama film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia Bhatt played the lead in the film. Hussain Zaidi wrote the screenplay for the movie. The film tells the tale of teenage girl Gangubai, who is sold into prostitution by her admirer Ramnik Lal, and how she eventually rises to become the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura. Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Varun Kapoor, and Jim Sarbh are also featured in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
