Helmet Cast, Release Date And Streaming Details: All You Need To Know

Helmet cast: Bollywood's gaze at controversial subjects has changed in the past few years. We are increasingly seeing films today that focus on subjects which make us uncomfortable, yet are socially relevant. One such upcoming film is Helmet- which address the stigma around use of condoms and how buying it is accompanied with a sense of shame rather than that of responsibility. The film will have an OTT release this month. Here's all you need to know about the release of Helmet this week.

Cast

The film features actor Aparshakti Khurana in lead, alongside Pranutan Bahl, grand-daughter of renowned actor Nutan, in the role of Khurana's wife. Apart from the two, this film also features actors Ashish Verma and Abhishek Banerjee, best known for his work in films like Bala, Stree and Ajeeb Daastaans. He also featured in the critically acclaimed television series Patal Lok, which was produced by Anushka Sharma.

Actors Saanand Verma and Sharib Hashmi will also feature in the film in crucial roles. Filmmaker Satram Ramani has direct the movie, while actor Dino Morea has co-produced it. According to Khurana, Helmet is an important story with a subliminal social message tastefully packaged within the layers of comedy. "It was a huge responsibility to play the lead and maintain a fine balance in such a film but, the layers pushed me to travel an extra mile in search of my character," he added.

What's the film about?

Helmet tells us the story of a bunch of men who loot an e-commerce truck so that they can sell its contents and make some quick money. However, instead of mobile phones, the group ends up with a haul of condoms. When it becomes a struggle to sell off the lot, Khurana's character Lucky comes up with a start-up idea revolving around delivering condoms to customers on-demand. The group names their company "Helmet" which is a common slang used for condoms in India.

Release Date

Helmet will have an OTT release on September 3.
