Bollywood Films On Loss and Grief

We Are Family

Probably among the saddest films ever made is We Are Family. Aman and Maya are a separate couple with three kids. Aman resides with his lover Shreya, while Maya lives with the family. The kids don't react well when Aman and Shreya move in after Maya is given a cancer diagnosis. They all fight very emotionally to coexist while also dealing with Maya's cancer. Be prepared with eye drops and plenty of tissues because this movie will make you cry like no other.

The Sky Is Pink

No one can deny the fact that watching a movie about a serious medical issue makes your heart hurt. The Sky is Pink is based on the true account of the late Aisha Chaudhary, whose family's outlook on life was impacted when they learned that she had a terminal disease. Aisha tells the story of her parents' courtship of Aditi and Niren, as well as how Aisha's illness affected their lives as a whole. It is a relatable emotional rollercoaster that is both heartbreaking and lovely in its own way.

October

Danish Walia, a 21-year-old Delhi-based hotel management intern, and Shiuli Iyer are the main characters of the film. They barely speak to one another and share a really friendly relationship. At a New Year's Eve party, Shuili is hanging out with her colleagues when she accidentally falls from a building and becomes unconscious. Her last words before this accident were, "Where is Dan?" Dan gradually lets go of his routine after learning this, and he starts to feel drawn to her static world.

Kapoor And Sons

Goodbye

The story revolves around this imperfect family, where every member has defects of their own. In essence, it tells the tale of two brothers—Rahul, who is extremely successful, and Arjun, who struggles—who travel to Coonoor, a hill station in Tamil Nadu, to see their grandpa.

The director shows this love, competitiveness, and even jealousy between the brothers in a very subtle way, just like any other pair of siblings would. The story explores not only this family but also all the problems or circumstances that people encounter on a daily basis. In particular, it discusses the pressure an Indian child experiences from his or her family to be flawless, successful, and everything wonderful.
