For women especially, the digital streaming platforms went on to host various shows which gave us dynamic women leading complex lives on their terms. These women moved us, made us smile and even cheer for them. And long after the show was over, we could not stop thinking about them.

So here is a list of the most memorable women characters in the OTT space for the year 2021:

Rajji in The Family Man 2: Creators Raj & DK roped in Telugu superstar Samantha to play the main antagonist in the second season of their much-loved web series The Family Man. While Rajji is on a mission that could cost the lives of many and cause political upheaval in the country, we cared for her because she was given a heartbreaking backstory. It was refreshing to watch a woman fight tooth and nail for survival and never flinch when breaking bones.

Kavya in Little Things 4: An independent, senstive, simple, honest but a very strong girl. She is passionate about the things she does. She is mature enough to make her relationships surrounding her work through her charm and witty nature. She is best at balancing her work with her personal life. Thus it was very hard for viewers to say goodbye to their favourites rom-com web series lead Kavya, played by Mithila Palkar, with the last season of Little Things being aired this year.

Chitra Das in Mumbai Diaries 26/11: An ode to healthcare providers who had to deal with the Mumbai terror attacks of 2008 unprepared, Mumbai Diaries 26/11 was loved by many for its characters. One such character is that of Dr Chitra Das, played by the talented Konkon Sen Sharma. Like many doctors and para-medical staff, Chitra has nerves of steel, and while she has her own fears to deal with, she never lets them keep her from doing her work.

Rani Bharti in Maharani: Huma Qureshi aced the role of a chief minister's wife living in rural India, oblivious to the state's political turmoil, who is unexpectedly forced to take the place of her husband. As we watched Rani Bharti evolve from a homemaker to a seasoned politician, not losing her compassion and strong-headedness on the way, we could not help but approve and ask for the second season of the show.
