All about Priyanka Chopra New York restaurant: Actor and producer Priyanka Chopra announced the launch of her new Indian restaurant named ‘Sona’ in New York on March 7. Now some of the pictures of the interiors have been also shared by the actor's close friend and entrepreneur Maneesh Goyal on social media. He recently shared pictures from a small puja ceremony conducted at the restaurant. On Instagram, Chopra had also posted pictures featuring her husband Nick Jonas and mother Madhu Chopra taking part in the puja.
Chopra chose the colour scheme brown and gold for Sona, which is also a bar and offers private dining space for eight to 30 guests.

"This morning at SONA, we conducted a small puja or blessing ceremony. We’ll be seeing our first guests very soon and it was important to both Priyanka Chopra and myself that we hold a puja before our doors are officially open," Goyal wrote in an Instagram post sharing photos from a puja ceremony which was organised at Sona ahead of the inauguration.

He further added, "This morning’s ceremony was especially poignant since, in September 2019, we did a similar ceremony to bless the space while it was raw—before we started any construction at all. At that time, we thought we’d be open by the Summer of 2020. Of course, we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us. I give that first blessing a lot of credit for seeing us through…and guiding us as we fought to keep our project alive."
Earlier, Chopra had shared a few photos from Sona where she can be seen performing a puja together with her husband Nick Jonas. She had shared, “This endeavour would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin. Thank you to our designer Melissa Bowers and the rest of the team for realizing this vision so clearly. The second and third photos were taken in September 2019 when we performed a small intimate Puja (prayer ceremony) to bless the space that would soon become #sonanewyork Godspeed!”

What's on the menu?
Unveiling Sona's decor and menu earlier this month, Chopra wrote in a post, "SONA reimagines the wonders of Indian fare in a space that evokes a bygone era of a boisterous yet elegant India—all within the heart of New York City."
The restaurant's official Instagram account also revealed a couple of signature dishes. "At last, a sneak peak of one of Chef @harinayak’s signature items on our menu. Kofta Korma accompanied by Chili Cheese Naan," one post was captioned.
On the work front, after starring in back-to-back Netflix films like We Can Be Heroes and The White Tiger a few months ago, Chopra recently filmed her romantic drama Text For You in London. She also completed filming her scenes for The Matrix 4 and is currently shooting for the Amazon Prime Video spy series Citadel.
