Aruna Bhatia Death: Actor Akshay Kumar's mother and film producer Aruna Bhatia, who was admitted in ICU due to ill health, passed away on Wednesday, September 8. The actor lost his mother just a day before his birthday. Kumar took to his official social media handles to share the news of his mother's demise.

Kumar has time and again spoken about the influence that his mother had on his life. While Bhatia wasn't seen publicly for some time due to health issues, she featured time and again in Kumar's Instagram posts and videos.

1. Aruna Bhatia had reportedly been unwell for the last few days. She was admitted to the intensive case unit of Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai. While she was in a critical condition, Kumar was shooting for his upcoming movie Cinderella in the UK.
2. The actor was extremely attached to his mother. So, he decided to fly back to Mumbai and asked the producers of Cinderella to carry on shooting without him.
3. Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor said on Tuesday, Sep 7 that he was "touched beyond words" at the concern of his fans for his mother's heath. He added that it was a very tough hour for him and his family. "Every single prayer of yours would greatly help," he further wrote.

4. On the morning of Sep 8, a day before Kumar's 54th birthday, Bhatia passed away. Kumar took to his Twitter handle to break the news to his fans and well wishers. He said that his mother was "his core" and he felt an "unbearable pain" on her departure. Kumar went on to say that his mother "peacefully left this world" in the morning and got "reunited with his father" in the other world. "I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti," he added.

5. The Bell Bottom actor's friends and colleagues conveyed their condolences to him on his loss. Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh wrote, "Deepest condolences to you and the family sir." Actor Renuka Shahane replied to Kumar's tweet, writing, "Deepest condolences to you and your family for this inconsolable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace."
