The complaint has been filed at the same police station where Chandranee filed a case against him a few days ago. Chandranee had alleged that the delivery man named Kamaraj had physically assaulted and gave her an injury on her nose. But the allegation was denied by Kamaraj as he alleged that Chandranee verbally abused him and threw shoes at him. He also said that Chandranee hit herself while throwing shoes and that she refused to return the good package after he apologised for the delay and offered for it to be returned.

Earlier this week, Chandranee, a beauty influencer on Instagram, shared a video in which she was seen crying. She had narrated her side of the story and alleged that Kamaraj came to her house and was rude to her. She had further said that he forced himself into her house and hit her in the face.

Kamaraj was then arrested, he is now on a bail and has been temporarily suspended by Zomato. Chandranee then gave more statements about the incident and later confessed that she did the delivery man but called it a "reaction out of fear". She said, "I panicked. It was in the heat of the moment, it was not intentional." Both sides of the story have different believers, actor Parineeti Chopra took to social media and showed support for the delivery man and called the treatment met by him "inhuman". Many users of social media have also started sharing memes about the incident in which Hitesha Chandranee has been painted as the villain. The actual culprit of the case is still not declared.

Kamaraj filed several charges against Chandranee, they include section 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and section 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code. Amidst all the uproar on social media. Zomato has decided to pick no sides. They said that they are supporting both the parties involved and have said that they want, " both sides of the story to come to light".
