A woman in her twenties was tragically shot and killed in her own home by two individuals wearing masks in southeast Delhi's Jaitpur. An official confirmed the incident on Saturday, calling it a potential robbery attempt.

The individual who fell victim to this unfortunate event has been recognised as Puja Yadav. The tragic incident unfolded on a Friday evening (October 27) at approximately 9 pm.

According to a senior police officer, the security footage reveals two masked men entering the woman's residence, discharging their firearms, and swiftly making their escape from the scene. The victim sustained gunshot wounds and was promptly rushed to a hospital, but unfortunately, she could not survive her injuries.

As the sound of gunshots attracted the attention of nearby residents, the two assailants attempted to flee on a motorcycle. However, bystanders managed to apprehend the motorcycle, forcing the culprits to abandon it and escape on foot. Authorities are currently conducting searches to apprehend the individuals who remain at large.

In a similar case that occurred in September, a 30-year-old woman was fatally shot in her residence located near Noida by two unidentified men. The motive behind the killing remains uncertain, as reported by police officials. The incident transpired at the Brij Vihar colony, situated within the Chhapraula area and falling under the jurisdiction of the Badalpur police station in the Central Noida zone.

Suniti, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Central Noida, confirmed that the victim was Soni, who was the wife of Mausam Kumar. The couple originally hails from Bihar and had relocated to this colony about six months prior to the tragic incident. Notably, this was Soni's second marriage, and the police indicated that she had an ongoing dispute with her former husband.

In another incident reported in May in South Delhi, a tragic incident unfolded as a female student in Class XII was fatally shot within her residence. Her father raised concerns that a youth who had been stalking her and was a distant relative might be involved in the incident. The assailant gained entry into the house located in Budh Vihar, Munirka, and proceeded to seal the girl's room before firing bullets into her chest, as reported by a senior police official.

The victim, identified as 18-year-old Pinki, was a student at a government school in RK Puram, Sector 5. When the perpetrator attempted to escape, the victim's aunt made an effort to pursue him, but he managed to flee the scene. Pinki was swiftly rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was declared to have arrived deceased.
